Nightwatch is designed to help you track and measure essential SEO metrics that will give you important insights on how your website is performing and what direction you may need to take your website next.
Here are three of these metrics, and how you can visualize them on the Nightwatch graph:
1. Average position/rank
Average position shows how your overall search rankings are improving. It is calculated as the sum of all rankings divided by the number of keywords that you’re tracking for a website. Every non-ranking keyword is shown as the lowest ranking on the scale - which is 100.
2. Search visibility index
Search visibility index refers to the percentage (values between 0 and 100) of a potential conversion traffic a given keyword (or set of keywords) has based on their ranking. Each rank is given a "visibility factor" number which is used to calculate its keyword's share of potential conversions:
Keyword that ranks #1 is considered to attract all of the traffic, so its factor is one (100%).
Lower ranked keywords are considered to result in fewer conversions, and their factors are proportional to their average CTR values.
3. Click Potential
Click potential shows an estimated number of clicks you should be expecting based on your current rankings and search volume for the chosen keywords.
